The purpose of the pollution index chart is to know the quality of the water we have in our lakes and other water sources. By knowing what type of pollution is in our water we are able to find the source and can then go and try to stop it to make our water better. If we dont test the organic pollution we could have alot of algae in our water that will make us sick.
