The water quality for my tank in class compared to a lake is defiantly a lot better. In a lake there is so much more bacteria and much more organisms that. In my tank the water is from the tap which has been filtered out and most of the bacteria has all been removed. The same thing for a river although it is going to have less bacteria then the lake it still will have more then my tank. The oxygen level will defiantly be higher though because it is moving water.
