April 12th

Freshwater ecology is important in many ways. One big reason is we catch fish from the ponds and rivers that we eat. Then there is the fact that a lot of recreational such as boating, canoing, and water skiing. The difference between a pond and a river is that rivers normally flow into a lake where as ponds are an isolated small body of water.
