During the video in class about Amphibians i learned a lot more than i was expecting too.
The first thing i learned was that there is a difference between toads and frogs. I have always thought there wasn't really a way to tell unless you knew a lot about them but i discovered that the difference is toads are dry and spiky and frogs are smooth.Also frogs jump where toads walk. Other facts i learned that frogs retain moisture by using a coat of wax. And the way water goes out is by a siddle. Also frogs can only see in black and white. Some frogs have bright colors on there stomach to show that they are poisonous and to scare off predators. And lastly i learned that frogs always eat there meals alive and catch them because they have a sticky tongue. If a pond has a lot of frogs you can tell that the pond has good water quality because if it didn't there wouldn't be a lot of frogs in the area because the bacteria and disease that was making the pond sick also killed the frogs.
